Blind Faith
With the upcoming presidential election, my ears have been overwhelmed with the blind faith in the American democratic process. Most of the people I’ve talked to seem to have no clue as to the inner workings of the system in which they so vehemently support. The rhetoric being spewed forth usually comes in two forms. One half being “Candidate D will bring about real change!” While the other half says “Candidate R will protect us from extremists!” Before you show your support for either candidate, please educate yourself as to how the American democratic process works. I’m not suggesting that you agree with my political views. You should make up your own damn mind. After reading the following articles, you still believe this election will matter, then I really, truly pity you. Most people won’t read past the first couple of sentences of this post, let alone take the time to read the following articles. That’s fine. Willful ignorance is something that cannot be cured with links to Wikipedia articles.

Extra Credit:
It’s interesting to see how many former Vice Presidents end up becoming President (quite often immediately after the previous President leaves office). There’s a word for that…
